Brooke Walzel
is a Houston based artist that specializes in oil paint, gouache and watercolor both with 2D and 3D work. Brooke graduated from Texas State University in 2018 with a BFA in Studio Art Painting and a Minor in Business Administration. Brooke’s work explores the intangible qualities of time and memory by relating back to a childlike state of mind. Using many materials such as oil paint, watercolor, carved wood and even found objects like rocks or bone. There are multiple parallels present within Brooke’s artwork reflected in the materials, subject matter and titles. By incorporating these specific parallels, I am able to solidify certain connections relating back to the intangibility of memories.
